Thispast year, theLeRoyHistorical
Society received $4,610 in memo-
rial donations. This included dona-
tions inmemory of JimDavis, John
Mangefrida, Evelin Aron, Marilyn
Crocker,JimHenryandSusanMcCar-
thy. The families of Marilyn Crocker
and SusanMcCarthy requested that
theirdonationsbe transferred to the
newly created Education Endow-
ment Fund.The family of JimHenry
has designated a portionof the do-
nations bemade to the Strengthen
theArmof Libertyproject.
Inaddition,wewant to report the
passingof a long-time lifemember
AnnettePeck,whohadundertaken
the task of researching her hus-
band’s genealogy as it related to
the artist Phineas Staunton. It was
her perseverance that created the
detailed files which in turn facili-
tated thedeaccessionof theHenry
Clay painting which now hangs in
the United States Capitol inWash-
ington, D.C. About three years ago,
Annette sent her detailed research
files to theHistorical Societywhich
wehavecarefullypreserved.
Also, Susan Jones,who served as
President of the Historical Society
several yearsagoandwhogaveher
time and talent to many projects,
recently died in Florida, where she
lived with her husband, Bob. Sue
enthusiastically guided the Histori-
cal Society through many critical
projectsandwewillmissherbright
smileanddedicationtoourmission.
Sue’s family has designated the
Historical Society for memorial do-
nations. If families or individuals
want todesignate theHistorical So-
ciety for memorials, we have cards
andenvelopes thatcanbeplacedat
the funeral home.All donations are
acknowledgedand the family isno-
tified. If requested, specific projects
canbedesignatedby the family.

Donations
In the past several years, our
members have responded with an
outpouring of year-end donations,
which has allowed us to plan for
somemuch-needed repairs.Thispast
year,$5,860was raised,whichwill be
used topaint and repair the shutters
on LeRoy House, and help paint the
backporch.Wewant to thankevery-
one for their generosity. It is greatly
appreciated!
LifeMembers
Come to theRescue
This past spring, our LifeMembers
met the challenge to establish an
Education Endowment Fund. They
donated $4,610 toward the $10,000
goal,whichwaseventuallymetat the
endof the year, in time for a $10,000
matching donation, which brought
the fund to $20,000.Thiswas placed
inaseparate investmentaccountand
the earnings will be used to supple-
ment theeducationprograms.
