Final plans are being made for a
two-night trip to Historic Newport,
Rhode Island, leavingFriday,April 29
and returningSunday,May1.
Therewill be tours of historic sites
as well as one or two of the gilded
age “cottages.” Jacob LeRoy’s broth-
er,Daniel andhiswife,SusannahFish
LeRoy, lived in Newport for many
years,andamarble tablet isdedicat-
ed to her in theTrinity Church. Also,
thefirstLeRoyancestor to immigrate
to theNewWorld, isburied inoneof
theNewport cemeteries.
We will be staying at nearby Mid-
dleton, Rhode Island, only minutes
from thehistoricdistrict ofNewport.
Andwewill have an opportunity to
discover some of the finest seafood
restaurants in the region.

The2016Dinner Auction is sched-
uled for Saturday, March 12th. This
year’s theme is Strengthen the Arm
ofLibertyasa tribute toLeRoy’sStat-
ueof Liberty.
Themenuwill reflectthediversityof
our immigrant ancestors. The dinner
will bepresentedby theD&RDepot.
