Leave LeRoy Thursday, Sept. 26th
am, for a 5 ½ hour drive to Morris-
town on our comfortable Bedore
motor coach, with lunch along the
way. Tour the Morris Museum with a
curator’s special tour of the Murtogh
D. Guinness Collection of 750 me-
chanical instruments and automata
– mechanical figures – and lots more.
After visiting the Morris Museum
we will check into the Hyatt Hotel on
the Green and dinner on your own
with a choice a many restaurants
within walking distance of the his-
toric green.
Friday morning we leave the hotel
for a tour of nearby Historic Speed-
well. This is where Samuel Morris first
displayed the use of his telegraph.
Speedwell has several buildings and
a historic home, all in a very pleasant
setting. We will leave
about noon and stop
for lunch on our way
to nearby Fosterfields,
a bucolic living history
farm and a wonderful
historic house museum
- - with demonstrations
in the afternoon.
We will leave for Mc-
Caulough Hall at noon,
for a special tour of the
James Kelly exhibit,
which includes the work
of the artist that created
the Ingham Memorial plaque that is
in the old LeRoy High School building.
Other period rooms and exhibits will
be open and we will leave in time to
return to LeRoy by 8 pm.
Cost of the trip is $480 per person
with a shared room. Single room is
$630. Call 768-7433 if you would like

Family Day
Sat., August 17
1-4 pm
Bring your children and grandchil-
dren to LeRoy House for an afternoon
of good old fashion fun. Challenge
them to a game of croquet, crokinole
or graces. The skittles board will be
set up and who can resist a game
of “shut the box”. Try your hand at
some 19th century puzzles or just
enjoy looking at 3-D stereo views of
LeRoy in the 1800s. The back porch
is a wonderful place to enjoy a game
and a glass of lemonade. Even if you
don’t have some young ones around,
join us for a relaxing afternoon.
Weather permitting, you’ll be
able to help paint the new LeRoy
Barn Quilt.
