With the generous support of
D & R Depot, Lakestreet Florist and
KentAuctioneers,the2012Dinner
Auction was declared a huge suc-
cess. Eighty four people enjoyed
the delicious meal prepared by
D & R Depot and the wines from
Yngoddess in Batavia.
During dinner, the ever popu-
lar $20 envelopes were bought up
quickly. Under the skillful talents of
the Kent family auctioneers, bidders
vied for attention and to get their
high bids acknowledged. A helicop-
ter ride, donated by Carl McQuillen
elicited a number of eager bidders.
The Christmas tree and evergreen
wreath donated by McPherson Or-
chards, once again raised a donation
much higher than their actual value.
The evening’s largest bid came on
an open hearth dinner donated by
Laura Williams to be held at Lynne
Bellusio’s house.As the bidding came
to $500, Lynne offered to replicate
the dinner for the runner up if they
agreed to match the $500 winning
bid, which gained the Historical So-
ciety $1000. Three barns quilts were
auctioned with a portion of their
winning bid going to the Bicenten-
nial event.
